Sunimplant aims to pioneer innovative building technologies in Morocco, being a showcase of the versatility of the hemp plant, under implication of an ancestral resource of the High Rif that is today considered as an agricultural waste. Our team sees in the derivates of hemp stem a chance to meet sustainable development in rural Africa. Energy saving building envelopes for new construction and retrofit of vernacular architecture can combat environmental decay in the High Rif, caused by elevated forest resource consumption. With one of our team members we convert hemp stem materials into building products with special focus on plant aggregate concretes. Our locally sourced formulations, adapted to specific climatic circumstances meet the needs of integral development and innovative employment in Africa.
